On Thursday, January 22, 2015, Accutome attended the The Glaucoma Service Foundation and Greater Philadelphia Ophthalmic Society’s 38th Annual EB Spaeth Oration at the College of Physicians in Philadelphia. Joelle Vega, President, and Matt Virgilio, VP of Global Sales and Marketing, joined close to 200 attendees representing the medical and academic community as well as industry. The evening included a lecture by David Pyott, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Allergan on how industry, academia, and venture-backed companies interact to drive innovation. Mr. Pyott reflected on his career in the ophthalmic industry, especially his time at Allergan, where he oversaw the growth of a company with about $1 billion in sales when he joined in 1998 to a $7 billion global specialty pharmaceutical and medical device company in 2014.
